Introduction

Hello, I have come here today to talk to you about the purpose and the codes and conventions of music video. I will be talking about different subjects on music videos and I will show you the example of videos that I am talking about.

Weekly Diary

Week One: 05/01/09

Monday: started on paper work for music video. The first project we started on was the timeline for the different years. Now from 1970’s it was no problem but before them it was hard to find music. The 40’s was the hardest, however after hours spent searching the web I finally found some examples and found who started off the music hype that is now in our everyday life. I also found out when Elvis first started singing and the Beatles. We then had to answer some questions on the content of our chosen videos. This was quiet hard to observe the video in detail, however looking at videos I have seen in the past I found some very good ones to write about.

Thursday: looked at the codes and conventions of the music videos. This was very helpful when starting the power point presentation as it explained more about how music videos worked. I never thought I would actually be looking music videos in this way, however I do find it quiet interesting to find out how and why these famous artists made this videos and what it took to make them.

Friday: lesson today was only one hour long so I started on the presentation, however I have struggled to use the apple Mac’s in the past and found it considerably hard to use goggles way of using power points. Not much was completed today with the little time and difficulties of using the equipment. I did get the hang of it by the end.

Week Two: 12/01/09

Monday: looked at the history of music. Was very different to be honest be quiet interesting to look at videos and how they have changed so much but obviously so has technology so it’s a lot easier now-a-days. But looking at the ways videos was shown was also interesting. Looked at what the presentation had to include got a bit confused about how to write it but after looking at the work we done last week and in the morning got the swing of things and the work started to flow.
